In 338 BC. Skiathos came under the rule of the Macedonians, and so the island lived undisturbed for many years. Historically, it reappears from the time of the Macedonian king Philip V, when it was at war with the Romans (200-199 BC) when the island was destroyed during the military operations and the action of the Roman fleet.
